Netflix Celebrates the Ikorodu Bois + more!

You know what they say about passion, it can definitely take you places. Well, this is the story of the Ikorodu Bois whose craft have been acknowledged by the world, including notable brands and personalities like, Netflix, CNN, our CEO Kunle Afolayan, Will Smith, Chris Hemsworth, and Dwayne “The rock” Johnson, to name a few. But before we get into Netflix’s surprise for these talented youngsters, let’s tell you a little bit about them.

Following their journey from the year 2017, with their first mimic of the American rapper, Kanye West, these young creatives comprising of 3 brothers: Babatunde Sanni (22), Muiz Sanni (15), Malik Sanni (10) and their cousin Fawas Aina (12) have recreated quite a number of high-end productions including Netflix originals Extraction and La casa de papel (Money Heist).

Speechless huh? Don’t worry, the feeling is mutual 😉. Now back to the surprise; we all know how passionate Netflix is about celebrating African talents from across the world. Their latest made in Africa collection says it all. And now, they are thrilled to celebrate the tenacity, passion, and ingenious productions of the Ikorodu Bois!

The big surprise we bet you’re anticipating…

Kunle Afolayan and the Ikorodu Bois at KAP Hub. Kunle Afolayan gifts the Ikorodu Bois Film Equipment from Netflixs.

To reward and nurture the craft of these young creatives, Netflix have decided to award the Ikorodu Bois with a filming starter pack to support the quality of their productions. The film starter pack consisting of Canon c100, professional film lenses, DJI Ronin-S, iMac Pro, Light sets & more were delivered by our CEO Kunle Afolayan, who was selected as a Netflix representative in Nigeria.

Who says the surprise was over? It only just begun 😎

Being that we strongly believe that nothing is impossible with hard work, passion and undaunted creativity, which is a reflection of the Ikorodu Bois, we have decided to nurture & encourage them as well as every creative out there. To do this, we are pleased to award the Ikorodu Bois with a full scholarship into KAP Film & Television Academy, plus an exclusive mentorship program with Kunle Afolayan!
