KAP Film and Television Academy in association with the University of Southern California (USC) School of Cinematic Arts and Netflix graduated her second batch of students who are the first graduates of the Sound Post Production class on Monday, 8th of August, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n

The 10-week Sound Post-Production Workshop which started in May came to an end with 11 students learning from industry experts – Richard Burton and Stephen Flick.<\/p>\n\n\n

The students learned fundamentals like script analysis and sound design, location scouting, proximity, post editorial sound, mixing of the soundtrack, etc amongst others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the graduation, the founder of the academy – Mr. Kunle Afolayan admonished the students to put to good use the skills they\u2019ve learned, asked them to be thorough in their work and pay attention to the minutest details when practicing what they\u2019ve learned because filmmaking is an art that requires attention to details, consistency and deep thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n

He further went on to explain how important sound is in filmmaking, stating how it expresses the strongest and mildest emotions from fear, joy, anger, happiness, tension, anxiety, etc to the audience. Though the audience sees the action, what they hear makes what they see more driven to their senses while they watch. In other words, film is an art that should be experienced in its totality. Hence, no part of the process of filmmaking is less important than the other, they\u2019re all equally important no matter how little the effort or process might seem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Program Director – Anto Lecky urged the students to give time to their art even if they work other jobs or have other things committed to their time, they should give time to practice what they\u2019ve learned and seek to make their work better and be the best at what they do.<\/p>\n\n\n

Afterward, Stephen Flick and Richard Burton wished them well in their endeavors and mentioned how it was fun to teach while they learned about Nigeria and its people from the students.
Certificates were presented afterward and the students had a photo session with their family and friends who were in attendance and the academy administrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
