The first in the series of talent development initiatives is a post-production training programme in collaboration with Kunle Afolayan Productions (KAP) Film and Television Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kaphubnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/DSC00698-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6432\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 10-week workshop opens for applicants on the 21st of January and closes on the 31st of January 2022 via the<span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\"> <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/kapfilmandtelevisionacademy.com\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">KAP Film and Television Academy website<\/span><\/strong><\/a>. The training programme aims to nurture professionals and upskill the already existing pool of talents to master the new forms of post-production techniques including picture editing. The workshop will have a curriculum with covers; Picture cropping, Editing and Sound Post-Production led by world-renowned editors and SCA faculty, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0089926\/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm\">Douglas Blush<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0282276\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0\">Stephen Flick<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0123692\/\">Richard Burton<\/a> from USC School of Cinematic Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfrica is a hugely important region for Netflix and as we grow the number of productions is important for African stories to be able to meet the growing demand for quality storytelling,\u201d says Allison Triegaardt, Netflix Grow Creative Manager for Africa. \u201cOur Grow Creative partnerships like the one with USC and KAP in Nigeria will help bridge the skills gap, upskill experienced crew and improve diversity head-on. This will also ensure an even stronger diversity of voices, stories, and points of view for our global audience.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kaphubnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/DSC09924-1024x692.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5261\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kunle Afolayan,<\/strong> founder of the KAP Academy who also recently directed Netflix\u2019s original Nigerian Christmas movie, <strong>A Naija Christmas<\/strong>, \u201cIt has been amazing working with the Netflix team to produce dynamic Nigerian films, and it will only get better now that we are partnering with Netflix and USC to train the the newest crop of film post-production experts. These editors and sound designers will go on to craft Nigerian stories on a world-class level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor over 90 years the USC School of Cinematic Arts has trained Hollywood\u2019s top picture and sound editors,\u201d says Rachel Gandin Mark, Director of International Programs for the USC School of Cinematic Arts. &nbsp;\u201cNow, thanks to this exciting partnership with Netflix and Kunle Afolayan\u2019s KAP Studios in Lagos, our world-class and award-winning faculty, Douglas Blush, Stephen Flick and Richard Burton will bring their expertise in helping to train the next generation of Nigerian cinematic storytellers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The USC School of Cinematic Arts is one of the most prestigious schools in the world for the study of all facets of the cinematic arts.
