KAP Film & Television Academy and SOPA (School of Performing Arts, Benin Republic) have launched the inaugural Pan-African Filmmaking Bootcamp<\/strong>, a new programme designed to train the next generation of African storytellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in February 2026. This agreement brings both institutions together to strengthen film education, talent development, and creative exchange across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first cohort will train 20 emerging filmmakers in an intensive, hands-on 12-week programme across Benin Republic and Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the Pan-African Filmmaking Bootcamp<\/strong>, participants will receive practical training across multiple filmmaking disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pan-African Filmmaking Bootcamp Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This bootcamp gives participants practical training, mentorship, and real production experience across two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training begins at SOPA in Benin Republic, where participants spend four weeks building core filmmaking skills and working on creative projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cohort then moves to Lagos, Nigeria, for a one-week industry immersion. Here, participants gain direct exposure to one of Africa\u2019s busiest film and media hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme ends at KAP Village, the creative campus of KAP Film & Television Academy. This final phase focuses on production work, collaboration, and project completion under professional guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will train in storytelling, directing, cinematography, producing, editing, and post-production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How the Pan-African Filmmaking Bootcamp Prepares Filmmakers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The African film industry is growing fast. Demand for skilled filmmakers is rising across cinema, streaming, and digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This programme focuses on practical training. Participants learn by doing. They work on real sets, solve production challenges, and build a portfolio of work during the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
