The KAP Film & Television Academy, founded by award-winning filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, will host the 2025 Filmmaking Residency Program from October 6\u201315 at the KAP Film Village & Resort in Igbojaye, Oyo State, in partnership with the Oyo State Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the theme \u201cEmerging Stories,\u201d the 10-day residency will bring together over 100 aspiring filmmakers from across Oyo State\u2019s 33 local government areas for intensive, hands-on training in all aspects of filmmaking \u2014 including directing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, sound, acting, and film business.<\/p>\n\n\n

Participants will be mentored by leading industry figures including Kunle Afolayan, Tunde Kelani, Joke Silva, Moses Babatope, Judith Audu, Lola Maja, Toyin Biafrin, Rotimi Fakunle, Adekunle \u2018Nodash\u2019 Adejuyigbe and so much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training will take place in a real production environment at KAP Film Village & Resort, the very location where Netflix\u2019s An\u00edk\u00fal\u00e1p\u00f3<\/em> was filmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Seyi Makinde praised the initiative as a powerful investment in youth development and the state\u2019s creative economy, while Kunle Afolayan emphasized its goal of empowering new voices to tell authentic African stories.<\/p>\n\n\n

The program will conclude with a Graduation and Screening Ceremony on October 15, where participants\u2019 short films will be premiered to an audience of industry professionals and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since launching in 2021, KAP Academy has trained over 40,000 students across Africa, combining world-class instruction with a mission to elevate the next generation of African storytellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
