Introducing Youssou N’dour; An Integral Part of #Citationthemovie

Recently, we shared 3 big announcements on our blog. We mentioned the unveiling of the original soundtrack album for Citation, Netflix’s trailer which was launched on Instagram and Twitter, and we also shared the video which captured the moments from the premiere of Citation. This is what I call a 3-in-1 treat. Click (Here) for a recap.

Now, let me introduce a man of many talents. He is a business man, a politician, an occasional actor, and not to leave out the most important part which melts our hearts; he is a composer, a Senegalese singer and a songwriter. He is the outstanding Youssou N’dour.

Youssou N’dour.

Honestly, there is a natural sweetness to N’dour’s vocal delivery, and he has sang with so much grace since the last three decades. His latest album, titled History says it all. In this album – released on the 17th of May 2019, he paid tribute to his past, reflected on his present and looked forward to the future.

He also covered two tracks on this album titled My child and Takuta, authored and co-composed by the president/CEO of MansMark records; Prince Ayo Manuel Ajisebutu and late iconic master drummer Babatunde Olatunji. For the icing on the cake, N’dour kept Olatunji’s weathered voice prominent in the mix, soaring side by side with his. Isn’t this beautiful?

We are happy to share with you that these two thrilling tracks; My Child and Takuta are a part of the soundtracks in the movie, Citation.

Great selection of soundtracks if you ask me. I mean, a great movie isn’t only about the pictures but also about the choice of songs used. We have to give it up for our CEO, Kunle Afolayan for being able to know good music when he hears one 😎.

We bet your reminders are still set for the 6th of November. 1 day to the release of Citation on Netflix, the wait is almost over!
