KAP Film Village & Resort Grand Opening: A Monumental Milestone in Nigerian Filmmaking & Tourism
The grand opening of KAP Film Village & Resort in Igbojaye, Oyo State, held on April 12, 2025, has officially set a new benchmark for film, culture, and tourism infrastructure in Nigeria.

Conceived by award-winning filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, the resort was designed as a creative haven—built to host film productions, train future industry leaders, and provide a serene retreat for lovers of culture and nature.

The grand opening was hosted by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Seyi Makinde, and Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.

The ribbon was officially cut by Governor Makinde, who applauded the vision behind the project and encouraged both Nigerians and international visitors to experience the uniqueness of KAP Film Village & Resort.

“We will provide connectivity to the national grid for the resort. We will also provide an alternative source of power through a solar-hybrid mini-grid for the resort within a timeline of six months. The road to the resort will be fixed by the Itesiwaju Local Government Council. Finally, the planned airstrips at Otu and Igbeti for security surveillance will be utilised to accommodate small aircrafts from the international airport in Ibadan to provide easier access to the resort”
