A Naija Christmas; One for the Road
Buzz, buuuuzzzz… can you guys hear that? That is the sound of the currently trending Christmas movie on Netflix, the number one mind-blowing Naija Christmas movie directed by none other than the mastermind Kunle Afolayan and produced by KAP Motion Pictures. We can all agree that so far, this movie collaboration is the best Christmas present from them to us and we are loving it.
Netflix, Kunle Afolayan, and KAP Music are not done with us yet because there is more and this time it doesn’t involve just viewing but also dancing and singing along. To put the berry on the icing, they have released A Naija Christmas original movie album and it is mind-blowing.
The title of the first song on the album is Ojo Mejila Keresimesi (12 days of Christmas). It was performed by the icon and legendary fuji musician PASUMA. The story behind the selection and composition of this song is one to tell, as Director Kunle Afolayan himself selected it. The Director said that he grew up listening to songs like this sung in English only, and being a man of culture, he thought it would be nice to have it recomposed in Yoruba with an extra touch, and voila, this magic was made.
