Tunde Kelani and Kunle Afolayan Team Up AGAIN for a New Film Project.
Brace up guys because Tunde Kelani is adding a historic title to his film catalogue!
Based on the life of the late Apala musician; Ayinla Waheed Yusuf, popularly known as Ayinla Omowura, the legendary filmmaker; Tunde Kelani weaves his latest film titled Àyìnlá around the iconic Yoruba artiste. This movie captures the odyssey and adventures of Ayinla, a local musical hero and highlights the relevance of his music even after his tragic death.
The movie features our CEO Kunle Afolayan as Olabisi Ajala (popularly known as Ajala the traveler) alongside Lateef Adedimeji as Ayinla, Bimbo Manuel, Omowunmi Dada, Ade Laoye, Diana Yekinni to name a few. Tunde Kelani’s latest movie – Àyìnlá will officially be his 4th project that Kunle Afolayan has featured in.
Tunde Kelani and Kunle Afolayan’s relationship dates back to his acting debut in Saworoide as Aresejabata which is produced and directed by our role model; Tunde Kelani. Their relationship is no ordinary relationship, but rather a father-son bond which has stood the test of time and has developed into the “ride-or-die” loyalty we see in the movies. After our CEO’s first acting debut in the 1998 movie; Saworoide which was released in 1999, he made other appearances in Tunde Kelani’s legendary films; Agogo Ewo (sequel to Saworoide) and Dazzling Mirage as Dotun.
As a great mentor to our CEO, Tunde Kelani has constantly visited the set of our productions and has always provided his veteran expertise when needed along the way. We all need a Tunde Kelani in our life, don’t we? 😁
This forthcoming project by Tunde Kelani will not only bring the late Ayinla Omowura’s story to life but will also immortalize the musical legend. We are extremely delighted to be a part of this historic project not just with the appearance of our CEO in the film, but by supporting this great project with our film equipment rented from Golden Effects Pictures.
