Kunle Afolayan Hosts Filmmakers and Delegates at FESPACO 2021

On the 19th of October 2021, our CEO and director Mr. Kunle Afolayan hosted a party at the Festival Panafricain du Cinéma de Ouagadougou (FESPACO) with the screening of his movie ‘Citation’. FESPACO is a film festival in Burkina Faso, held biennially in Ouagadougou, where the organization is based. It accepts for competition only films by African filmmakers and is chiefly produced in Africa.

The party hosted was preceded by a small presentation done by Mr. Afolayan based on the journey of KAP Hub. He talked about the Hub as a tourist destination due to the expansion of its extensions which include KAP Academy, KAP Sound Stage Studio, KAP Cinema, Ire Clothing, and Afefeyeye Restaurant and Bar. Some of the delegates who turned up for the party include Keith Shiri, Amb. Mykel Parish, Marie Paule Adje, and Berni Goldblat.

Mr. Afolayan also spoke extensively on KAP Academy and KAP Cinema stating, that the essence of the Academy is to groom aspiring filmmakers and to also inform people all over Africa and beyond, that there are more facilities available to develop film and television in Nigeria. He continued by mentioning that KAP Cinema was built to support the continuation of Cinema Culture because more films will be created in Africa.

After the presentation, the screening of the movie ‘Citation’ took place, and then the After Party which was ‘everything’ fun.
