The movie Àyìnlá is a musical biography based on the life of the late Apala musician, Ayinla Waheed Yusuf, popularly known as Ayinla Omowura who is considered to be one of the most original Yoruba musicians in the 80s. He was unfortunately stabbed to death on the 6th of May 1980, right at the peak of his career by his manager, Bayewu over a disagreement in a bar at Abeokuta, Ogun state.
This blockbuster was directed by the legendary Tunde Kelani and produced by Jadesola Osiberu who has produced several other movies including the famous Sugar rush and Isoken.
The movie has in its star-studded cast our CEO, Mr. Kunle Afolayan , alongside Adedimeji Lateef, Omowumi Dada, Bimbo Manuel, Ade Laoye, Bimbo Ademoye, and Mr. Macaroni. Ayinla is Tunde Kelani’s first movie since Dazzling Mirage which was released in 2015.
This month packs a handful of cinematic experiences that promises to be worth it. Watch out for the movie On My Honour, directed by Ogunbiyi Samuel and produced by Kingsley Omoefe also coming out today, the 18th of June. Ire o!
